| BUYING PRODUCTS WITH DISCOUNT CARDS |
Many of the products we sell on Youthtravel.com are only available to young people under 26 years old and full-time students.
Click here if you are not looking for details on ISIC and IYTC cards, but on other discount cards.
Airlines, railway and bus operators acknowledge that the student/youth market will travel on a regular basis if they are incentivised by low prices and flexible fares.
In order to buy such products, young people under 26 years old and full-time students have to prove their status.
Proof of youth or student status has to be through possession of either:
An International Student Identity Card (ISIC Card)
Or
An International Youth Travel Card (IYTC Card)

The ISIC and IYTC cards are the only form of identification that facilitates access to specially negotiated products and services.
Buying special travel products:
These cards have unique identity numbers and in order to purchase special youth/student travel products on Youthtravel.com, you will be asked to provide this number.
This number is then entered in your booking.
The site clearly shows where special youth/student products exist and when you must enter your IYTC or ISIC card number into a booking.
Where required our reservations consultants will ask you for your IYTC or ISIC card number.
IT IS VITAL THAT THE NUMBER YOU ENTER/PROVIDE IS A VALID NUMBER AS PER YOUR IYTC or ISIC CARD.
CARD NUMBERS GIVEN ARE CHECKED AUTOMATICALLY BY OUR SYSTEMS TO MAKE SURE THEY MATCH WITH THE DETIALS HELD IN THE GLOBAL DATABASE OF IYTC/ISIC CARD HOLDERS.
AT THIS POINT OUR SYSYTEMS ALSO CHECK THAT CARD NUMBERS GIVEN ARE FROM CARDS THAT ARE VALID AND HAVE NOT EXPIRED.
WHERE THE NUMBER PROVIDED DOES NOT MATCH THE NUMBER IN THE DATABASE, THE BOOKING WILL NOT BE PROCESSED.
IN THESE CASES WHERE INCORRECT OR EXPIRED NUMBERS HAVE BEEN GIVEN CANCELLEATION FEES WILL STILL APPLY.
Whilst travelling:
Once you have received your tickets and are traveling you must carry your IYTC or ISIC card at all times.
Airlines, railway and bus operators always ask customers to provide their ISIC or IYTC card along with their travel documents or travel details at check-in or voucher exchange at the airport or terminal.
FAILIURE TO PRODUCE A VALID IYTC/ISIC CARD AT THIS TIME WILL RESULT IN YOU NOT BEING ALLOWED TO TRAVEL.
YOUR BOOKING WILL BE CANCELLED AND NO REFUND WILL BE GIVEN.
IT IS VITAL THAT YOU CARRY YOUR IYTC or ISIC CARD WHEN TRAVELLING AT ALL TIMES.
